Overlooking Barcelona
Cathedral in the Gothic Quarter, the Hotel Colon is housed in a six-storey
1950s building 700 metres from Plaza Catalunya, 500 metres from Las Ramblas
and one kilometre from the beach. The hotel's 145 guestrooms feature brightly-coloured
decor and separate seating areas. All include satellite TV, radios, minibars,
and internet connections. Bathrooms feature large mirrors, hair dryers,
shower/tub combinations, bathrobes, and slippers.
La Carabela restaurant serves Mediterranean-themed specialities and features
a terrace café overlooking the gothic spires of Barcelona Cathedral.

Driving Directions
Trains and yellow and black taxi cabs are available for transfer from
the airport to the centre of Barcelona. The aerobus also serves terminals
a and b and takes passengers to Plaza Catalunya and Plaza Espanya in central
Barcelona. The extensive underground train system (the metro) connects
the hotel with the rest of central Barcelona with most journeys taking
less than 20 minutes. The metro station closest to the hotel is Jaume I.
The hotel can give advice on local bus services and order yellow and black
taxi cabs on request.
Driving directions: from Barcelona airport take the highway, direction
Barcelona. Then follow the A2 Barcelona ring road. Turn off at exit 21
and take Las Ramblas (a wide boulevard) toward the Gothic Quarter. Follow
signs for the Cathedral and the hotel is just off the Cathedral Square
on Avenida de la Catedral. |
